Report: Moorhead next in line at Fordham

Dec 15, 2011 - 12:31 AM New York, NY (Sports Network) - University of Connecticut quarterbacks coach Joe Moorhead will be the next coach at Fordham, according to a report on Wednesday.

FootballScoop.com first reported the story.

The Sports Network learned a news conference is expected to be scheduled Friday if Moorhead is approved as head coach.

Moorhead was a three-year starter at quarterback Fordham, earning second-team All-Patriot League honors as a senior in 1995.

Moorhead is a former offensive coordinator at Georgetown, Akron and Connecticut. The Fordham job would be his first head coaching position. He also served as an assistant at Pittsburgh.

Fordham went 1-10 this past season under coach Tom Masella, who was fired on Nov. 19. He had a 27-40 record in six seasons.
