Police investigation surrounds Jackson State football
Mar 28, 2012 - 5:01 PM Jackson, MS (Sports Network) - An investigation continues in the shooting death of a 19-year-old male at a weekend party involving Jackson State University football players.The victim, Nolan Ryan Henderson, from Atlanta, was found fatally shot by Jackson police early Sunday in an apartment building just a short walking distance from the JSU campus.
The mother of the victim, Sanya Henderson, told The Clarion-Ledger newspaper that her son was beaten by football players at the party at the apartment building Saturday night before he was killed.
The Clarion-Ledger reported no arrests have been made while JSU players are being questioned by the Jackson Police Department. The department has two guns in custody for ballistics tests.
