WR Smith leaves Penn State for Marshall
Aug 16, 2012 - 11:50 PM Huntington, WV (Sports Network) - Wide receiver Devon Smith has decided to transfer from Penn State to Marshall.Smith became the latest player to leave the Nittany Lions in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sex-abuse case.
"Devon is a great young guy, has tremendous talent and is one of the fastest players in the country," Thundering Herd coach Doc Holliday said. "He is a member of the Marshall family now and we're excited about it."
Smith, who enters his senior year and will be eligible this season, played in all 13 games last season and caught 25 passes for 402 yards with a pair of touchdowns.
