Minnesota coach Kill released from hospital after seizure

Oct 14, 2012 - 7:50 PM Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Minnesota head football coach Jerry Kill was released from a hospital Sunday after suffering a seizure following Saturday's game against Northwestern.

The seizure occurred in Kill's private locker room at TCF Bank Stadium after he had completed his postgame press conference. He was immediately attended to by team medical personnel and was then transported by ambulance to a hospital as a precaution.

"Coach Kill was discharged from the hospital this morning," said team physician Dr. Pat Smith in a school statement. "He was evaluated yesterday and this morning and all tests confirm that he remains in excellent health. His only concern is his team and staff, and he is excited to resume his normal coaching duties as Minnesota prepares for Wisconsin this week. He plans to be back in the office (Monday)."

Kill has had issues with seizures in the past. He collapsed on the field last September near the end of the game against New Mexico State, then returned to coach the following week.
