Wisconsin's Ball wins Doak Walker Award
Dec 7, 2012 - 2:28 AM Lake Buena Vista, FL (Sports Network) - Wisconsin's Montee Ball captured the Doak Walker Award, given to the nation's top running back.Ball has rushed for 1,730 yards and 21 touchdowns this season.
The senior became the all-time touchdowns leader in FBS history in an overtime loss at Penn State on Nov. 24. He passed Travis Prentice, who scored 78 touchdowns from 1996-99.
Ball bested Oregon's Kenjon Barner and UCLA's Johnathan Franklin for the award.
