Florida State's Joyner returning for senior season
Jan 3, 2013 - 10:43 PM Tallahassee, FL (Sports Network) - Florida State junior safety Lemarcus Joyner will return for his senior season, the school announced on Thursday.Joyner, a first team All-ACC selection, started all 14 games in 2012 for the No.2 Seminoles defense and will carry a streak of 27 consecutive starts into the 2013 campaign.
Joyner has played in every game for the Seminoles since arriving in Tallahassee in 2010. He finished the 2012 season as the team's fifth-leading tackler with 51, and also had the third-longest interception return of the season when he brought a pick back 33 yards against Boston College.
The Ft. Lauderdale native led the Seminoles in kick returns (18) and kick return yardage (424). He returned five kickoffs for 185 yards including a 90 yarder versus Clemson in a top 10 win for the Seminoles.
Joyner recorded six tackles -- four solo -- on Tuesday in Florida State's 31-10 victory over Northern Illinois at the Orange Bowl.
