Northwestern State hires two coordinators
Jan 17, 2013 - 1:52 AM Natchitoches, LA (Sports Network) - New Northwestern State football coach Jay Thomas named Robby Brown as his offensive coordinator and Chris Boone as his defensive coordinator on Wednesday.Brown helped Valdosta State win the NCAA Division II national championship this past season as his offense averaged 469 yards and 40 points per game.
The former Georgia Tech quarterback previously coached at Troy, Henderson State and Southwest Baptist.
Boone will run the Demons' defense following stints as the defensive coordinator at UT Martin and Jacksonville State. He coached with Thomas at Nicholls State in 2002 and '03,
Northwestern State had a 4-7 record this past season.
