Maine gives Cosgrove three-year contract extension
Feb 6, 2013 - 10:50 AM Orono, ME (Sports Network) - The University of Maine announced a three-year contract extension for head football coach Jack Cosgrove through June 2016 on Tuesday.Cosgrove, who just completed his 20th season with the Black Bears, and holds the program record with 111 wins, was in the final year of a contract.
"Jack has done a terrific job as the leader of the Black Bear football team. He thrives on the intense competition and rivalries in the Colonial Athletic Association, and is committed to continuing to build upon the team's success," Maine athletic director Steve Abbott said.
Cosgrove has led Maine to four NCAA playoffs (2001, 2002, 2008 and 2011) as well as two conference championships (2001 and 2002).
The Black Bears had a 5-6 record this past season.
