So. Illinois, SE Missouri to play at Busch Stadium

Apr 12, 2013 - 5:14 PM St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Football rivals Southern Illinois and Southeast Missouri State will hold a press conference at Busch Stadium on Monday to announce this year's game will be played there Sept. 21.

The St. Louis Cardinals will be on the road at Milwaukee that weekend, which will allow for the Southeast Missouri home game to be moved from Cape Girardeau.

It will be the first football game in the 7-year-old stadium's history.

The game will be the 79th between the programs. Southeast Missouri owns a 37-33-8 series lead.

Southern Illinois, from the Missouri Valley Football Conference, is coming off a 6-5 season. Southeast Missouri, which plays in the Ohio Valley Conference, was 3-8 last season.
