Two FBS transfers join Montana
Jun 11, 2013 - 6:01 PM Missoula, MT (Sports Network) - University of Montana football coach Mick Delaney announced the addition of two FBS transfers to his program on Tuesday.Wide receiver Jamaal Jones arrives at Montana from the University of Washington, while fullback Jamal Wilson is a transfer from Boise State. Both are redshirt sophomores who have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Jones, a 6-foot-1, 188-pounder from Spanaway, Wash., saw action in three games at Washington last season.
"Jamaal Jones will definitely help our wide receiver crew because of his experience at the FBS level," Delaney said. "He has the speed to potentially be a big-play guy for us."
Wilson, a 5-11, 238-pounder from Fontana, Calif., played in three games for Boise State last season.
"Jamal Wilson is an outstanding fullback, who is transferring from Boise State because they are not going to employ a fullback in their new offense," Delaney said. "He's the type of player who can make a difference in a two-back set."
Montana, from the Big Sky Conference, is coming off a 5-6 season - its first losing mark since 1985. The Grizzlies kick off their season on Aug. 31 against Appalachian State.
