UNC's Anderson named Arkansas State head football coach
Dec 19, 2013 - 5:37 PM Jonesboro, AR (SportsNetwork.com) - Arkansas State has hired Blake Anderson as the school's next head football coach.Athletic director Terry Mohajir made the announcement via Twitter on Thursday saying, "I'm excited to announce Blake Anderson as our new head football coach!"
Anderson had spent the last two seasons at North Carolina, where he served as the team's offensive coordinator under Larry Fedora.
It will be the first ever head coaching job for Anderson, who takes over at Arkansas State for Bryan Harsin.
Harsin led the RedWolves to a 7-5 campaign and a berth in the GoDaddy.com Bowl in his only season on the Arkansas State sideline before leaving to accept the head coaching job at Boise State on Dec. 11.
Anderson will become the fifth different head coach in five seasons for the Red Wolves. After Steve Roberts' nine-year tenure came to a close in 2010, Hugh Freeze took over in 2011 and left after one season for Ole Miss. Gus Malzahn lasted just the 2012 campaign before moving on to Auburn before Harsin's one-year stint.
No one has shouted yet.
