Arizona's Wright wins Nagurski Trophy
Dec 9, 2014 - 3:52 AM Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - Arizona linebacker Scooby Wright III was awarded the 2014 Bronko Nagurski Trophy, given annually to the best defensive player in college football.Wright recorded 153 tackles -- 28.0 tackles for a loss -- and added 14 sacks and six forced fumbles in 13 games for the Wildcats this season. The sophomore was the only FBS player to rank in the top-25 in each of those categories
Wright joins Rob Waldrop (1993) as the only Arizona players to win the award.
The other finalists were Malcom Brown of Texas, Landon Collins of Alabama, Senquez Golson of Ole Miss and Gerod Holliman of Louisville.
