MSU CB Waynes declares for NFL Draft
Jan 5, 2015 - 4:55 PM East Lansing, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Michigan State's Trae Waynes has declared for the 2015 NFL Draft.The All-American cornerback registered three interceptions, eight pass break- ups and 46 tackles during his junior season.
"Trae Waynes is a tremendous football player, who also has been a great ambassador for our football program," coach Mark Dantonio said in a statement. "Trae is a lock-down corner, who played an important role in our success the last two years. He's an excellent press corner, who's often been isolated against our opponent's top wide receiver. He has great deep-ball judgment and the ability to tackle in space. Physically, Trae has length and great make-up speed."
Waynes is a potential first-round pick.
