Defensive scores gives Jacksonville 20-14 win over Delaware

Sep 5, 2015 - 2:21 AM NEWARK, Del. (AP) Justin Horton recovered a fumble in the end zone with 2:09 left to secure Jacksonville's 20-14 season-opening win over Delaware on Friday night.

Kade Bell was 25 of 43 for 269 yards and a 22-yard touchdown to Andy Jones but when the Dolphins were driving for a potential clinching score late in the game, Ryan Torzsa picked off Bell at the 3-yard line. After Joe Walker ran for two yards, he was sacked on the next play with Horton recovering for the touchdown.

The Blue Hens responded with Jalen Randolph scoring on a 1-yard run after a 31-yard pass from Walker to Ryley Angeline with 1:20 left. Delaware recovered the ensuing onside kick but the ball didn't cover 10 yards and Jacksonville ran out the clock.

It was 7-7 at the half after Randolph scored on a flea flicker from Diante Cherry. Brandon Behr had two field goals for Jacksonville.
