Oklahoma RB Murray to have surgery, done for the season
Nov 26, 2007 - 8:29 PM NORMAN, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray will have surgery on his injured knee this week and is out for the rest of the year.The redshirt freshman will miss Saturday's Big 12 Conference Championship game against top-ranked Missouri as well as the Sooners' bowl appearance.
Murray was hurt trying to recover an onside kick in a 34-27 loss to Texas Tech on November 17.
Murray rushed for 764 yards and a team-leading 13 touchdowns on 127 carries this season. He has also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns.
Defensive end Auston English could also miss the Big 12 title game. He is being evaluated this week after missing a third straight game with a right ankle injury.
