Nebraska OL Christensen arrested

Mar 8, 2008 - 8:17 PM LINCOLN, Nebraska (Ticker) -- Nebraska offensive lineman Andy Christensen was arrested early Saturday on numerous charges.

Christensen was jailed early on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault, resisting arrest and failure to comply after an incident at the Brass Rail bar.

According to police, Christensen allegedly approached a woman from behind and put his hand under her skirt.

Nebraska first-year coach Bo Pelini took quick action against Christensen, a key player on the Cornhuskers' offensive line.

"The charges against Andy are serious in nature and these types of actions will not be tolerated," Pelini said. "Andy has been indefinitely suspended from our football program. I will address Andy's future status when more complete details of the situation are available."

Entering his senior season, Christensen was limited to just three games in 2007 due to a knee injury. He played both guard spots as a sophomore, starting eight of 14 games.
