South Carolina QB Garcia reinstated
Jul 31, 2008 - 6:27 PM COLUMBIA, South Carolina (Ticker) -- South Carolina redshirt freshman quarterback Stephen Garcia was reinstated from his school-imposed suspension Thursday, one day before the Gamecocks begin their preseason practices.Garcia was suspended this past March after being ticketed for underage drinking. The suspension was scheduled to end on August 15, but school officials approved his early reinstatement.
"I thank everyone at the University of South Carolina that was involved with my reinstatement, for giving me another chance to be a student-athlete here," Garcia said. "All I can say is that I will try to be the best student-athlete I can during my career here."
