Fresno State DTs Monga, Banks out for UCLA game

Sep 24, 2008 - 6:22 PM FRESNO, California (Ticker) -- Fresno State likely will be without starting defensive tackles Jon Monga and Cornell Banks for Saturday's game against UCLA.

Monga suffered a knee injury in last week's 55-54 double-overtime victory against Toledo and is expected to miss three weeks, Fresno State coach Pat Hill said Tuesday.

A senior, Monga has 12 tackles and one sack this season for the 24th-ranked Bulldogs (2-1).

Banks did not play against Toledo due to an ankle injury and has been listed as questionable for the contest at UCLA. The 300-pound sophomore has two tackles this season.

If Banks cannot play against the Bruins, the Bulldogs likely will turn to sophomore Mark Roberts along with freshmen Logan Harrell and Chase McEntee to play defensive tackle. Roberts replaced Banks last weekend while Harrell filled in for Monga.

"We got to just keep rolling," Hill said. "Whatever guy is wearing that red hat between the stripes has got to play."
