Boston College LB Toal out for season
Oct 20, 2008 - 4:38 PM CHESTNUT HILL, Massachusetts (Ticker) -- Boston College senior linebacker Brian Toal will miss the remainder of the season after breaking his right leg in the first quarter of Saturday's 28-23 victory over Virginia Tech.Eagles coach Jeff Jagodzinski said that Toal fractured his fibula, ending his career at Boston College.
"It's part of the game," Jagodzinski said. "But he was really playing good football for us."
A fifth-year senior, Toal was the Eagles' second-leading tackler this season with 42 and also had a pair of sacks.
This is the second injury in as many seasons for Toal, who redshirted last year after injuring his shoulder.
Boston College (5-1) has won four in a row and visits North Carolina on Saturday.
