Army-Navy game to be moved back a week in 2009
Oct 23, 2008 - 7:05 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- As part of a new agreement with CBS Sports, the annual Army-Navy football game will be moved back a week starting in 2009.The network reach an agreement Thursday on a 10-year extension for the broadcasting rights to the rivalry game.
"We celebrate today a proud moment for the Academies and CBS Sports," executive vice president of CBS Sports Mike Aresco said. "The Army-Navy game is a national treasure and moving the game to the second Saturday in December will, over the next decade, permit the entire nation once again to embrace this great rivalry and its poignant traditions.
"There is no more fitting way to conclude the college football regular season."
Army will face Navy for the 109th time on December 6.
