Oklahoma QB Bradford has torn ligaments in left hand

Nov 30, 2008 - 10:15 PM NORMAN, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford tore ligaments in his non-throwing hand during Saturday's 61-41 victory over Oklahoma State, Sooners coach Bob Stoops said Sunday.

Bradford spent much of the second half Saturday in the shotgun and dropped a number of snaps, but Stoops expects the redshirt sophomore will be able to play in next week's Big 12 championship game against Missouri.

Stoops said Bradford will take snaps during the week and wear a protective cast on his left hand.

Despite the injury, Bradford completed 30-of-44 passes for 370 yards and four touchdowns.

The victory enabled the Sooners (11-1) to climb over Texas into the all-important No. 2 spot in the BCS standings.

Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech tied for the Big 12 South title, but the Sooners won the tiebreaker based on their higher BCS ranking.
