Kentucky QB Cobb to have surgery

Dec 1, 2008 - 11:09 PM LEXINGTON, Kentucky (Ticker) -- Kentucky quarterback Randall Cobb will undergo arthroscopic surgery Tuesday to repair cartilage in his left knee.

Cobb suffered the injury in Saturday's 28-10 loss to Tennessee, leaving his status for Kentucky's bowl game up in the air.

The freshman has done it all offensively for the Wildcats (6-6), playing wide receiver and returning punts in addition to starting the last four games under center.

Cobb has completed 53 percent of his passes for 542 yards and five touchdowns, totaled 316 yards rushing and seven TDs and pulled in 21 catches for 197 yards and two more scores.
