Miami QB Marve suspended for Emerald Bowl

Dec 18, 2008 - 10:55 PM MIAMI (Ticker) -- Miami starting quarterback Robert Marve was suspended for the Emerald Bowl on December 27 against California, according to a report Thursday from the Miami Herald.

The newspaper reported that the redshirt freshman, who was also suspended for the season opener, will miss the contest due to academic reasons.

Freshman Jacory Harris, who alternates with Marve at the position, will start in his place.

Marve passed for 1,293 yards and nine touchdowns with 13 interceptions this season.
