TCU LB Henson to miss Poinsettia Bowl

Dec 22, 2008 - 8:34 PM SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- TCU star linebacker Robert Henson has been ruled academically ineligible for Tuesday's Poinsettia Bowl against undefeated Boise State.

Henson, a first-team All-Mountain West Conference selection, was an integral member of a TCU defense that ranked second nationally in terms of opponents' yardage.

But the 11th-ranked Horned Frogs (10-2) will be without the senior standout when they take on the ninth-ranked Broncos (12-0), one of two unbeaten teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Henson finished with 73 tackles and two interceptions this season, his first full campaign as a starter at TCU.
