NC State QB Wilson sprains knee in Papajohns.com Bowl
Dec 29, 2008 - 10:28 PM BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (Ticker) -- North Carolina State quarterback Russell Wilson was forced out of Monday's Papajohns.com Bowl due to an apparent right knee injury.Wilson, who helped the Wolfpack build a 17-6 halftime lead against Rutgers, appeared to sustain the injury during a long run near the end of the first half.
It is uncertain if the redshirt freshman, who was replaced by Harrison Beck at the start of the third quarter, will return to the contest.
