FLORHAM PARK, N.J.(AP) -- The New York Jets have claimed wide
receiver Mario Urrutia off waivers from the Cincinnati Bengals.
Urrutia was a seventh-round draft pick by the Bengals last year
and spent the season on the practice squad. He had 130 catches
for 2,271 yards and 16 touchdowns during his college career at
Louisville.
The signing Friday of the 6-foot-6 Urrutia could provide the
Jets with a much-needed tall target. The only other wide
receivers on the roster taller than 6-2 are the 6-4 Marcus
Henry, who spent his rookie season on the practice squad, and
6-3 undrafted rookie Britt Davis.
