Vegas casino sues Broncos' Jordan over $20K debt
Aug 8, 2009 - 12:40 AM LAS VEGAS(AP) -- A Las Vegas Strip casino has sued Denver Broncos running back LaMont Jordan over $20,000 in gambling debts plus interest.Lawyers for The Mirage hotel-casino filed the lawsuit Thursday in Clark County District court and said Jordan applied for six gambling markers in June 2008.
The lawsuit says that when the check-like markers were deposited, they were returned because of insufficient funds or an inability to locate the account.
An application attached to the lawsuit shows Jordan identified himself as a football player for the Oakland Raiders.
Jordan played for Oakland from 2005 through 2007, and played for New England last year.
A casino spokesman had no comment. A Broncos spokesman did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
No one has shouted yet.
