Bengals release TE Utecht, WR Chatman
Nov 18, 2009 - 1:30 AM CINCINNATI(AP) -- The Bengals have released tight end Ben Utecht and receiver Antonio Chatman, both of whom were out for the season with injuries.Utecht suffered a major concussion during training camp at Georgetown College and was taken off the field on a stretcher. He stayed overnight in a hospital for observation, and his symptoms were slow to diminish. He was placed on the injured reserve list on Aug. 31.
Chatman suffered a severe ankle injury during practice and went on injured reserve on Sept. 5.
The Bengals also signed safety Brannon Condren to their practice squad on Tuesday. He opened the season with Indianapolis, but was waived on July 29.
