Broncos re-sign DL Smith, release 2 other players
Mar 11, 2010 - 11:54 PM ENGLEWOOD, Colo.(AP) -- The Denver Broncos have re-signed defensive lineman Le Kevin Smith and released starting inside linebacker Andra Davis.Smith is a fifth-year pro who played in 11 games in his first season in Denver last year after he was acquired from New England in a trade Aug. 17. He started twice. In 42 career regular season games, Smith has had 19 tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery.
Davis is a ninth-year pro who had 90 tackles, 3 1/2 sacks and three pass breakups in 16 games, including 13 starts, for Denver last season.
The Broncos also released defensive lineman J'Vonne Parker, who didn't play in his only season in Denver last year after being placed on injured reserve Aug. 8.
