Titans agree to terms with P/K Schmitt
Mar 15, 2010 - 9:26 PM NASHVILLE, Tenn.(AP) -- The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with free agent punter and kicker Ricky Schmitt and also visited with free agent safety Sean Jones. The 6-foot-3 Schmitt debuted in the NFL in 2009, kicking for San Francisco on Dec. 27 against Detroit. He had two field goals on three attempts with five kickoffs. But he hurt a hamstring and went on injured reserve the last week of the season.
The 24-year-old Schmitt also has been with Pittsburgh, Oakland and originally joined Arizona as a rookie free agent in 2007.
The Titans have been very deliberate in free agency. But they signed back defensive back Rod Hood late last week, and Jones could add much-needed experience to the secondary.
No one has shouted yet.
