Packers sign C Saturday
Mar 23, 2012 - 9:42 PM Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - The Green Bay Packers signed longtime Indianapolis Colts center Jeff Saturday on Friday. The move comes after Scott Wells, Green Bay's starting center last season, agreed on a contract with the Rams last week.
Saturday, 36, has spent his entire 13-year career with the Colts. He is fifth on Indianapolis' all-time games played list.
The five-time Pro Bowler entered the league as a non-drafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens in 1998. After being let go by Baltimore in June of 1998, Saturday signed with the Colts in January of 1999.
The North Carolina product moved into the Colts' starting lineup in 2000 and was part of an offensive line that allowed just 242 sacks in 12 seasons, the fewest in the NFL over that span.
