Titans' Britt undergoes "minor" knee surgery
May 16, 2012 - 9:43 PM Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt, who is recovering from a torn ACL and MCL suffered early last season, underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee Wednesday.Titans general manager Ruston Webster said the procedure was "commonplace" with knee injuries because it helps clean up the area of the operation.
"It's not one of those things that was, 'Wow, we're having surgery.' It's very common, and if it helps his rehab process, it's well worth doing. Our goal is to have him play this year. You don't want to get into the middle of camp and (need to do something)," Webster said.
Britt was injured in the second quarter of a 17-14 win over the Denver Broncos on Sept. 25 of last year. He hauled in a swing-pass down the right sideline and appeared to twist his knee as he turned up the field, fumbling the ball in the process.
He remained on the ground for a few minutes before being helped to the sideline and was then carted off the field.
Britt entered that Week-3 game with an AFC-leading 271 yards receiving.
Although he has had numerous run-ins with the law since he was taken in the first round of the 2009 draft by the Titans, Britt has 101 catches for 1,765 yards and 15 touchdowns in just 31 NFL games.
