Bears sign CB Vasher to five-year extension
Jun 25, 2007 - 9:02 PM LAKE FOREST, Illinois (Ticker) -- The Chicago Bears locked up one of their core defensive players Monday, signing cornerback Nathan Vasher to a five-year contract extension.Financial terms were not disclosed.
Vasher, 25, is an integral part of a Chicago defense that ranked fifth overall last season. He registered 47 tackles and three interceptions in 14 regular-season games and added another pick in the playoffs as the Bears reached the Super Bowl for the first time since 1986.
A 2004 fourth-round pick, the 5-10 Vasher collected a career-high eight interceptions in his second season. He has 16 interceptions in 46 career regular-season games.
