Cowboys' Spencer signs his one-year franchise tag tender
Mar 12, 2013 - 6:57 PM Irving, TX (Sports Network) - Dallas Cowboys linebacker Anthony Spencer signed his franchise tag tender on Tuesday.On March 4, the Cowboys applied the tag on Spencer for the second straight year.
Spencer started all 14 games he appeared in last season and posted career- highs in tackles (95) and sacks (11) to earn his first trip to the Pro Bowl as an injury replacement.
Since being selected 26th overall by Dallas in the 2007 draft, Spencer has compiled 361 tackles, 32 1/2 sacks and 12 forced fumbles in 90 games (67 starts) over six seasons with the Cowboys.
