Broncos add Knighton, Bradley
Mar 14, 2013 - 1:07 AM Englewood, CO (Sports Network) - The Denver Broncos brought in two newcomers to the defensive side of the ball during Wednesday's second day of free agency, with the defending AFC West champs striking deals with tackle Terrance Knighton and linebacker Stewart Bradley.Knighton, formerly of the Jacksonville Jaguars, agreed to a two-year contract, while the ex-Arizona Cardinal Bradley was signed for one year.
A 49-game starter during his four-year tenure with the Jaguars, Knighton recorded 32 tackles and two sacks while finishing second on the team with 17 quarterback pressures last season. The 330-pound plugger will be reunited with current Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio, Knighton's head coach during the Temple product's first three seasons in the league.
Knighton is expected to start alongside returnee Kevin Vickerson, whom the Broncos re-signed on Tuesday, on the interior line.
Bradley was released by the Cardinals on Mar. 1 following a disappointing two- year stint with the club in which the 29-year-old registered just 42 tackles and started only one of 32 games.
The six-year pro made 28 starts for Philadelphia between 2008-10, however, and accumulated 108 tackles, one interception and one sack as an Eagle in 2008 before missing the entire following season due to a torn ACL.
