Lions re-sign S Delmas
Mar 15, 2013 - 10:35 PM Allen Park, MI (Sports Network) - The Detroit Lions re-signed safety Louis Delmas to a two-year contract on Friday. The free agent had visited St. Louis and San Francisco this week, but opted to come back to the team that selected him in the second round of the 2009 draft.
Delmas, 25, has had injury issues the past two seasons that limited him to a total of just 19 games during that stretch. He missed the final five regular- season games of 2011 with a right knee injury, that sat out eight contests last year due to issues with his left knee that required surgery.
Over his four seasons in the NFL, the Western Michigan product has totaled 267 tackles and three sacks, along with three interceptions and 16 passes defensed.
