Giants re-sign backup QB Carr
Mar 21, 2013 - 6:10 PM East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - The New York Giants re-signed quarterback David Carr on Thursday.Carr, entering his 12th NFL season, completed 2-of-3 passes in two games last season as Eli Manning's backup. In 2011, he did see action behind Manning during the Giants' championship season.
Selected with the overall No. 1 draft choice by Houston in 2002, Carr has thrown for 14,452 yards with 65 touchdowns and 71 interceptions in 94 career games.
After five seasons as the starter with the Texans, Carr spent 2007 with Carolina before joining the Giants for the first time. He was Manning's backup for the 2008 and 2009 seasons before a year in San Francisco, then returned to New York in 2011.
