Titans agree to terms with DE Pitoitua
Mar 25, 2013 - 6:17 PM Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with defensive end Ropati Pitoitua.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Pitoitua appeared in 15 games for the Kansas City Chiefs last season, and tallied 51 tackles with two sacks and one forced fumble.
"Ropati gives us the big body we were looking for at the defensive end position. He has a played a number of games and been productive," said Titans general manager Ruston Webster in a statement Monday. "He should be an asset for us in the run game at end and also could give us flexibility on game days with the ability to kick inside for some snaps."
The Washington State product signed with New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He appeared in eight games as a rookie, but missed the entire 2010 campaign after tearing his Achilles' tendon in a preseason game.
Over 37 career games, Pitoitua has 73 tackles and three sacks.
