Colts sign WR Heyward-Bey
Apr 2, 2013 - 2:21 AM Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - The Indianapolis Colts signed wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey on Monday.The four-year veteran had spent his entire career in Oakland and posted 41 catches for 606 yards and five touchdowns over 15 games last season.
"We feel great about acquiring a talented player in Darrius Heyward-Bey," said general manager Ryan Grigson. "He's big, strong and shows toughness in traffic and after the catch. He's got elite finishing speed that's as good as there is in the NFL."
Selected seventh overall in 2009, the Maryland product has totaled 140 catches for 2,071 yards and 11 touchdowns in 56 games during his career.
