Raiders bring in S Young
Apr 9, 2013 - 10:19 PM Alameda, CA (Sports Network) - The Oakland Raiders signed free agent safety Usama Young on Monday.Young played the last two seasons with the Cleveland Browns, posting career bests of three interceptions and 1 1/2 sacks in 13 games in 2012.
The Maryland native has totaled 229 tackles, seven picks and 2 1/2 sacks in 81 games since breaking into the NFL with New Orleans in 2007.
Oakland also announced the re-signing of unrestricted free agent defensive end Andre Carter.
Carter totaled 19 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks in 12 games during the 2012 campaign, his first with the club.
The 33-year-old Denver native has posted 513 tackles and 78 1/2 sacks over 11 NFL seasons with the Niners, Redskins, Patriots and Raiders.
