Bears sign OL Britton
Apr 16, 2013 - 10:26 PM Lake Forest, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Bears continued their offseason makeover along the offensive line by agreeing to terms with free agent Eben Britton on a one-year contract on Tuesday.Britton comes to the Bears after spending the first four seasons of his NFL career with Jacksonville. The 2009 second-round pick started 30 games during his tenure with the Jaguars, 23 at right tackle and seven at left guard.
The 25-year-old has often been hampered by injuries during his time in the pros, having played in only 22 of a possible 48 games for Jacksonville over the past three seasons due to various ailments.
Britton joins a Chicago team that signed former New Orleans left tackle Jermon Bushrod to a five-year contract last month and recently added ex-Jets left guard Matt Slauson via free agency.
