Falcons' Moore arrested
Apr 19, 2013 - 2:29 AM Flowery Branch, GA (Sports Network) - Atlanta Falcons safety William Moore was arrested and charged with simple battery on Thursday.According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Moore was booked into Fulton County Jail following an incident. No other details were immediately available about the arrest.
"We are aware of the situation involving William Moore and are in the process of gathering more information," a Falcons spokesperson said in a statement released to the newspaper. "Because this is now a legal matter, the club will have no further comment at this time."
Moore, 28, signed a five-year, $30 million contract extension on March 9. He was coming off a season in which he was named a Pro Bowl alternate after recording 105 tackles and four interceptions.
A second-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, Moore has 159 tackles, 11 interceptions and five forced fumbles in four seasons with the Falcons.
