Apr 29, 2013 - 6:36 PM (Sports Network) -2 (62) - Christine Michael, RB, Texas A&M; 3 (87) Jordan Hill, DT, Penn State; 4 (123) - Chris Harper, WR, Kansas State; 5 (137) - Jesse Williams, DT, Alabama; 5 (138) - Tharold Simon, CB, LSU' 5 (158) - Luke Willson, TE, Rice; 6 (194) - Spencer Ware, RB, LSU; 7 (220) - Ryan Seymour, OG, Vanderbilt; 7 (231) - Ty Powell, DE, Harding; 7 (242) - Jared Smith, DT, New Hampshire; 7 (242) - Michael Bowie, OT, NE Oklahoma State
Top Picks Analysis: Percy Harvin cost the Seahawks their first-round pick and then they traded down in the second before taking the talented but troubled Michael, who may be the most physically gifted tailback in this year's draft class. Hill is a one-gap, two-down player who should fit in as an early down run- stuffer.
Best Value Pick: Harper is the type of long, big-bodied wideout Pete Carroll likes and gives Russell Wilson yet another option on an offense which is quickly becoming an embarrassment of riches.
Questionable Calls: Hill reeks of the journeyman tag and Williams, although not an exceptional athlete, has the strength and motor to be the far more effective player down the line.
Summary: Carroll and general manager John Schneider have a very talented veteran group, enabling them to take chances up and down the draft. Marshawn Lynch's punishing running style makes having a caddy all that more important and Seattle took two shots with Michael and LSU's Ware. Elsewhere offensively, Harper adds to the mix, while Hill and Williams bolster the defensive line depth. There are too many gambles here to give a really high grade but this should end up being a solid group.
FINAL GRADE: B-
Undrafted rookie free agent signings: Utah State WR Matt Austin; Arkansas T Alvin Bailey; Southern Illinois DE Kenneth Boatright; Miami LB Ramon Buchanan; UNLV LB John Lotulelei; Colorado SS Ray Polk; Bowling Green G Jordon Roussos; Oklahoma RB Dominique Whaley; Old Dominion LB Craig Wilkins
