Ballard to serve as Chiefs' director of player personnel
May 7, 2013 - 6:50 PM Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - The Kansas City Chiefs named Chris Ballard as the team's director of player personnel on Tuesday.In 2012, Ballard was named the director of pro scouting for the Chicago Bears after serving as a scout with the team for the previous 11 seasons.
"Chris is a tremendous talent evaluator and a great fit for our staff," Chiefs general manager John Dorsey said. "He is well respected across the league, he is a remarkable person and we are pleased he decided to join us."
Before landing in Chicago in 2001, Ballard spent seven seasons at Texas A&M- Kingsville (1994-2000) as a wide receivers and secondary coach before spending his final season with the team as the defensive coordinator.
