Chargers sign Te'o, three other draft picks
May 10, 2013 - 1:08 AM San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - The San Diego Chargers signed four of their six draft picks to contracts on Thursday. The team agreed to terms with linebackers Manti Te'o and Tourek Williams, wide receiver Keenan Allen and quarterback Brad Sorensen a day before the Chargers' rookie mini camp.
San Diego drafted Te'o with the 38th overall selection after he helped Notre Dame reach the BCS national title game this past fall. A consensus All-America selection, Te'o led the Irish with 113 tackles and seven interceptions during his senior year and finished runner-up for the 2012 Heisman Trophy behind Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel.
"It's a dream come true," Te'o said. "Now it's time to play football. It's definitely a blessing, but now I'm ready to get to business."
Keenan, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound third-round selection (76th overall), finished his three-year Cal career as the school's all-time leader in receptions (205) and ranks third with 2,570 career receiving yards.
