Jaguars release Owens, sign Gerberry
May 16, 2013 - 4:23 PM Jacksonville, FL (Sports Network) - The Jacksonville Jaguars have released long-time running back Montell Owens and signed center Dan Gerberry.Owens, a two-time Pro Bowl selection as a special teamer, signed as a rookie free agent in 2006 with Jacksonville. He holds the franchise record for career special teams tackles with 118 in 104 games over seven seasons.
Gerberry spent parts of the last four seasons with the Detroit Lions. He was not on the roster for the 2012 season after being waived during final cuts. He was a four-year starter at Ball State, where he earned first-team All-MAC honors as a senior.
