Raiders sign P Kluwe

May 17, 2013 - 9:01 PM Alameda, CA (Sports Network) - The Oakland Raiders signed punter Chris Kluwe on Friday.

Kluwe, 31, played in all 16 games last season for the Vikings, punting 72 times for 3,237 yards, an average of 45 yards per punt.

In eight NFL seasons, all with the Vikings, Kluwe has punted 623 times for 27,683 yards and has a 44.4-yard career punting average. He has only been blocked once, in 2008.

To make room on the roster for Kluwe, Oakland waived punter Bobby Cowan.
