Report: 49ers WR Crabtree suffers torn Achilles
May 22, 2013 - 7:48 PM Santa Clara, CA (Sports Network) - San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree reportedly tore his Achilles tendon during organized team activities Tuesday.USA Today's Mike Garafolo was the first to report the news.
Crabtree enjoyed a breakout season last year, finishing with 85 catches for 1,105 yards and nine touchdowns.
The Texas Tech product will reportedly undergo surgery to repair the tendon. The surgery could be season-ending.
Originally selected 10th overall in the 2009 draft, Crabtree has caught 260 passes for 3,345 yards and 21 touchdowns in 58 career games with the 49ers.
With Crabtree sidelined, Anquan Boldin, acquired in a trade with the Ravens in March, becomes San Francisco's No. 1 wide receiver. Mario Manningham and Kyle Williams are both coming off serious knee injuries.
