Report: Saints LB Butler tears ACL
Jun 12, 2013 - 3:17 PM New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - New Orleans Saints linebacker Victor Butler reportedly tore his ACL during Tuesday's organized team activities practice.According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Butler will likely end up on injured reserve.
Butler had to be helped off the field following a collision with running back Mark Ingram. Saints coach Sean Payton said he thought Butler would be fine, but it appears an MRI has showed otherwise.
The 25-year-old Oregon State product was signed by the Saints in the offseason. New Orleans had plans to use Butler as a pass rusher in coordinator Rob Ryan's 3-4 defensive front.
Butler tallied 89 tackles and 11 sacks in 63 games with the Cowboys from 2009-2012.
