Cards RB Dwyer moved to reserve non-football list

Sep 18, 2014 - 7:02 PM Tempe, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list Thursday, a day after he was arrested on multiple assault charges involving a 27-year-old woman and Dwyer's 18-month old child.

On Wednesday, Dwyer was booked into the Maricopa County Jail and charged with one count of aggravated assault causing a fracture, one count of aggravated assault involving a minor, two counts of criminal damage, one count of preventing the use of a phone in an emergency, and assault.

According to a Phoenix police news release, detectives from the department's Family Investigations Bureau arrested Dwyer over allegations of assault in two separate incidents that are alleged to have taken place on consecutive days in July in a residence in southeast Phoenix.

Dwyer, according to the release, has admitted the incidents happened but denied any physical assaults occurred.

In his first season with Arizona after four years in Pittsburgh, Dwyer appeared in each of the Cardinals' first two games this season with 16 rushes for 51 yards and a touchdown.

The Cardinals re-signed running back Jalen Parmele, who was a final roster cut before the beginning of the season.

Parmele, a four-year veteran who previously played with Baltimore (2008-10) and Jacksonville (2012), has appeared in 35 career games (two starts) and has primarily been used on special teams, where he has registered 1,078 yards on 43 kickoff returns.

Arizona also signed running back Kerwynn Williams to the practice squad and released running back Chris Rainey.
